The importance of a fresh and engaging brochure to promote your business cannot be ignored. A brochure is an informative booklet that introduces customers to a company’s products or services, gives information on a new product or service, or talks about the benefits of the same. It is a promotional document that customers can read and carry with themselves.

This useful marketing tool comes in different shapes and sizes and includes flyers, newsletters, product guides, spec and sell sheets. However, only an attractive brochure can grab the attention of your potential customers. Here are a few essential tips that you can follow to design a great brochure that will dazzle.

Size

It is important to select a size that will be able to accommodate all the information that you want in your brochure. The four standard sizes are: 8.5 x 11, 8.5 x 14, 11 x 17, and 11 x 25.5. An 8.5 x 11 trifold or half-fold brochure is a perfect size for sales brochures like event promos, take out menus, etc. A color brochure of 11 x 25.5 size can work as a product catalog, while an 11×17 sized brochure can serve all purposes because it can fit in images, texts, and graphs. Always remember to make optimal use of the space and not to crowd a brochure with unnecessary information and images.

Print

The quality of the paper and the print matters a lot. There are many options when it comes to paper quality and finishing. To give your brochure a better look, opt for a heavier paper texture and include special effects like die cuts or play with different shapes. Try something new and give your brochure an outstanding look.

Templates

Brochure templates should be selected based on whether they will be handed out or mailed. If your vouchers are to be mailed, do not forget to consider the size of the address and postage panel. You can also use an aqueous coating on such brochures to make it scratch resistant and look glossy.

Plan Ahead

It pays to plan ahead when you design a brochure. For example, you might not have plans to mail your brochures at present but might need to in the future. In that case, add a mailing panel while designing your brochure. Brochure designs have significantly evolved in recent years. While there are already fantastic designs out there to be used, you can always customize your design and add something new to your brochure.
